The King Kong diaries

I love the strategy of building interest in a forthcoming movie by allowing people to feel they've been a part of the production process.

Director Bryan Singer has been doing it for "Superman Returns"; Peter Jackson and his WETA Digital posse have also been keeping a diary from the set of "King Kong". This week's installment of the Post Production Diary focuses on model-making:

"With 17 weeks left to go the model making department is still in full swing recreating skull island at one twelfth scale. Paul Van Ommen introduces us to his gonzo gang of model technicians and gives us some insight on what it takes to scale down trees, plants, dirt, even moss!"
